About

I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Leicester. I am part of theĀ  Centre for Medical Humanities conducting research into sex education in the nineteenth century. The current working title of my thesis is: The Contribution of Elizabeth Blackwell to the Sex Education Movement, 1849-1910. I have academic interests in sexuality, gender, sex education, feminism, social history, the history of medicine and the nineteenth century but the Tudors tickle me too.

This blog will hopefully allow me explore the areas of sex and gender outside the chronological confines of my thesis topic without my supervisors getting too cross!
